Blahnik Buying Made Easy!

Finally Mr Manolo Blahnik has struck a deal with Harrods to include his fabulous range of footwear which will now skip alongside designers such as Stuart Weitzman, Carvela, Yves Saint Laurent, Nicholas Kirkwood, Guiseppe Zanotti, Gina, Mulberry and all your other favourites.  Blahnik told WWD: “I am very excited that my shoes will reach an even broader audience through Kurt Geiger in Liberty and Harrods.”  Although they are not looking at expanding anywhere else in the UK due to fears of diluting the brands exclusivity…. at least this now offers an option of buying your stunning Manolo’s without having to jump in the car for a daytrip to London as Harrods website distribute throughout the UK.

Below are some of my favourites from this season.

Peeking @ Maison Martin Margiela’s Peep Toes

Today I thought I’d take a sneak peek at Maison Martin Margiela……. Bit of a mouthful!

I am in love with the knee-high boots in brown suede priced at a very reasonable £665.00, for no reason other than they remind me of the paper Christmas lanterns I used to make as a child and thankfully the designer has decided to forgo the Christmas glitter and cotton wool balls to boot.  These are laser cut and feature a covered heel, leather sole, cut out detailing with a heel height of 3.9 inches.

Next on the never-ending wish list are the beautiful wedges priced at £470.00.  These caught my eye because of the thoughtfully cut wedge with the stiletto silhouette, they are made from leather, have a round toe and a heel height of 3.9 inches.

The ankle boots are priced at £445.00 and made from blue cloth, have cut out detailing, leather soles, a heel height of 3.9 inches……….. Anyone know what’s so important about 3.9 inch heels? I am guessing it’s a metric thing as it’s roughly converted into 100mm but feel free to post a comment if you can shed some light on the subject. :)

Last but not least, some more suede ankle boots, these have elasticised gores, rubber soles, beautifully stitched detailing and are priced at £365.00.

Charlotte’s Web Check!

Tonight I thought I’d check back in with a much loved designer to brighten my mood after all this miserable weather.  Charlotte Olympia’s collection for Spring/ Summer 12 is a beautifully designed mix of footwear which appears to be inspired by nature, soft materials and palettes with stunning contrasting detailing.  Out of the collection I have picked four of my favourites which are shown below;

Ava:  A stunning monochrome court with a heel height of 5 inches, classic styling and detailing matching heel to bow (£585).

Leaf me alone: With 6 inch heels and 1 inch platform, think 1950′s Miami Beach (£625).

Ocean drive: Love these! 4 inch heel courts in black suede with gold palm leaf detailing (£585).

She sells sea shells: ……. Even difficult to type! 6 inch heels with a 1 inch platform again and beautiful ornate detailing using shells, pearls…. think glamorous mermaid….. in the dry I guess lol (£1,295).

Go fourth and shop! here’s the link http://www.charlotteolympia.com

Mules of Choice

As a follow on from last nights post; I thought it a good idea to elaborate on the Miu Miu Mules that have won me over for Spring/ Summer 2012.  Miu Miu’s inspirations appear to have been quite quirky, incorporating floral tones, curvy shapes and used rich materials such as velvets and satins which work well with this months pastel colours.  They almost remind me of Manolo’s signature pumps with buckle embellishments.

On a more contemporary note both Louis Vuitton and Kurt Geiger have stuck with the mule, incorporating the pastel/ simplistic theme but mixed in clashing contemporary metallic toe caps, Vuitton have taken this a step further by adding straps ………… thank god not a platform to be seen :o ) no broken bones for me this season, good times!
